NOTE:
- Do not spill brake fluid on the vehicle; it may damage the paint. If brake fluid does contact the paint, wash it off immediately with water.
- To prevent spills, cover the hose joints with rags or shop towels.
- Remove the brake shoes (see REAR BRAKE DRUM REPLACEMENTΒ ).
- Disconnect the brake line (A) from the wheel cylinder (B).
- Remove the bolts (C) and the wheel cylinder from the backing plate.
- Apply Cemedine 366E sealant or equivalent between the wheel cylinder and backing plate (D), and install the wheel cylinder, then connect the brake line.
- Install the brake shoes (see REASSEMBLYΒ ).
- Bleed the brake system (see BRAKE SYSTEM BLEEDINGΒ ).
- Do the parking brake inspection and adjustment (see PARKING BRAKE INSPECTION AND ADJUSTMENTΒ ).
- Spin the wheels to check for brake drag.
- After installation, check for leaks at hose and line joints or connections, and retighten if necessary. Test-drive the vehicle, then check for leaks (see BRAKE HOSE AND LINE INSPECTIONΒ ).
