2006 Chevrolet Cobalt SS, 4D Sedan, StandardSECTION Removal Procedure

  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zones in SIR.
  2. Remove the automatic transaxle control assembly. Refer to Shift Control Replacement in Automatic Transaxle - 4740-E/4T45-E.
  3. Using an electrical terminal pick, remove the solenoid electrical terminals from the connector body.

  5. Using a 5/32 in drill bit, drill out the rivet attaching the solenoid to the control assembly.

  7. Remove the shift lock control solenoid.
