2006 Chevrolet Cobalt SS, 4D Sedan, StandardSECTION Installation Procedure

  1. Install the wheel speed sensor through the drum brake backing plate to the wheel bearing/hub assembly.
  2. Seat the wheel speed sensor harness grommet into the backing plate.
  3. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  4. Install the wheel speed sensor mounting bolt.

    Tighten:Β  Tighten the bolt to 8 N.m (71 lb. in.).

  6. Connect the wheel speed sensor electrical connector.
  7. Install the brake shoes. Refer to Brake Shoe Replacement in Drum Brakes.
  8. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  9. Lower the vehicle.
