Ignition Switch: Removal
2001 Chevrolet Cavalier LS, 2.4 TSECTION Removal
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect negative battery cable.
- Disable air bag system. See AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article. For 2002, see AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article.
- Remove steering column trim covers. Remove tilt lever. Remove 4 screws from lower trim cover. Remove upper trim cover.
- Remove ignition lock cylinder. See LOCK CYLINDER (CAVALIER & SUNFIRE) .
- Remove retaining screws (2) from ignition switch (3). See Figure .
- Remove ignition switch (3) from steering column (1).
