2001 Chevrolet Cavalier LS, 2.4 TSECTION Removal & Installation (Cavalier)

  1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONSΒ . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEMΒ .
  2. Remove defroster grille screw. Using flat-blade screwdriver, remove defroster grille. Remove left and right instrument panel outer trim covers. Open glove box. Remove glove box trim plate. Remove accessory trim plate.
  3. Remove screws from instrument panel trim pad. See Fig 1. Remove trim pad. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten trim pad screws to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONSΒ . Activate air bag system.
