2001 Chevrolet Cavalier LS, 2.4 TSECTION Diagnostic Procedure

- If SIR Diagnostic System Check has been performed, go to next step. If SIR Diagnostic System Check has not been performed, go to SIR DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECKΒ .
- If BCM or SDM were replaced, go to step Β 4. If BCM or SDM were not replaced, go to next step.
- Using scan tool, verify that PCM is programmed with correct VIN. If VIN is not correct, go to next step. If VIN is correct, go to step Β 5.
- Using scan too, program correct VIN into PCM. Go to step Β 8.
- Using scan tool, verify that BCM is programmed with correct VIN by comparing VIN in BCM to VIN in PCM. If BCM is programmed with correct VIN, go to step Β 7. If VIN is not correct, go to next step.
- Using scan tool, reprogram BCM. Go to step Β 8.
- Replace SDM. See SENSING & DIAGNOSTIC MODULE (SDM)Β under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Go to next step.
- Reconnect all SIR components. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, clear DTC's. Go to SIR DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECKΒ .
