NOTE:
After repair or component replacement is completed, perform appropriate MEMORY SYSTEM CHECK under TROUBLE SHOOTINGΒ
to verify system is functioning properly.
- Perform POWER SEAT MEMORY SYSTEM CHECKΒ under TROUBLE SHOOTING. Go to next step.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Connect fused jumper to ground and memory seat/mirror diagnostic connector, located under driver's seat. Memory seat/mirror module will chime once to indicate Mode 1 has been entered. Operate driver's seat switch in all positions. Memory seat/mirror module should chime once at each switch input. If any seat switch positions caused memory seat/mirror module chime to sound, go to next step. If any seat switch position did not cause memory seat/mirror module to sound, go to LEFT SEAT DOES NOT MANUALLY MOVE IN ONE DIRECTIONΒ and diagnose each suspect switch individually.
- Disconnect left seat switch Gray, 12-pin connector. Using DVOM, check voltage between left seat switch harness connector terminal "B" (Orange/Black wire) and ground. See Fig 1 . If 10-15 volts exists, go to next step. If 10-15 volts does not exist, go to step 8).
- Using DVOM, check voltage between left seat switch harness connector terminals "B" (Orange/Black wire) and "D" (Black wire). If 10-15 volts exists, go to next step. If 10-15 volts does not exist, go tostep 9).
- Briefly connect fused jumper wire between left seat switch harness connector terminals "B" (Orange/Black wire) and "L" (Tan wire) If left seat moves forward, go to step 7). If left seat does not move forward, go to next step.
- Replace memory seat/mirror module. See MEMORY SEAT/MIRROR MODULEΒ under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Recheck system operation.
- Replace left seat switch. See POWER SWITCHESΒ under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Recheck system operation.
- Repair open or short to ground in Orange/Black wire between left seat switch and slice S211. Recheck system operation.
- Repair open in Black wire between left seat switch and ground. Recheck system operation.
