Removal (Fiero)

- Remove air cleaner and negative battery cable. Remove ground strap and shifter cables from transaxle. Remove upper transaxle-to-engine bolts. Install engine support fixture (J-28467).
- Raise vehicle on a hoist. Remove both rear wheels and drive axles. Refer to Drive Axles Section for removal procedures. Remove catalytic converter heat shield. Remove header pipe from exhaust manifold.
- Remove cradle-to-engine nuts. Support cradle with a screw jack and remove remaining cradle nuts. Lower cradle from vehicle. Remove starter shield and starter motor. Support transaxle with a jack and remove lower transaxle to engine bolts. Slide transaxle from engine and lower from vehicle.
