DTC B2111: Lumbar Down Switch Failed: Testing

2000 Buick Park Avenue Base, 3.8 KSECTION Testing
  1. Perform POWER SEATS DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. Go to next step.
  2. Install scan tool to DLC. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Select and monitor SEAT SWITCHES in MSM data list. If scan tool displays seat switches as idle, go to next step. If scan tool does not display seat switches a idle, go to step  4 .
  3. Activate lumbar down while observing seat switch parameter. If seat switch parameter changes state, go to step  10 . If seat switch parameter does not change, go to next step.
  4. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect lumbar switch assembly. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. If scan tool parameter displays seat switches as idle, go to step  7 . If scan tool does not display seat switches as idle, go to next step.
  5. Check for short to power in lumbar down signal circuit (Yellow/Black wire). Repair as necessary. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If lumbar down signal circuit is okay, go to next step.
  6. Check for poor terminal contact at MSM harness connector. Repair as necessary. After repair, go to step  10 . If terminal contact is okay, go to step  8 .
  7. Check for poor terminal contact at lumbar adjuster switch harness connector. Repair as necessary. After repair, go to step  10 . If terminal contact is okay, go to step  9 .
  8. Replace MSM. See MEMORY SEAT MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repair, go to step  10 .
  9. Replace lumbar switch assembly. See LUMBAR SWITCH ASSEMBLY  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repair, go to next step.
  10. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. Recheck system operation. If DTC resets, go to step  2 . If no DTCs exist, system is okay at this time.
