Fault in disengagement of converter lockup clutch
Fault description
Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Performance or Stuck Off
Condition for fault identification
Test condition:
Clutch/converter in dynamic operation when vehicle is
driven
Terminal condition: Ignition ON
Voltage condition:
7 ... 16V
Condition for fault memory entry
Filter counter controlled by time or events
Action in service
1. If fault is passive: Check oil level and inspect for leaks.
Clear fault memory and conduct road test within monitored
conditions (drive 15 s under constant conditions > 2nd gear).
If fault code is not registered, transmission OK
If fault code is entered repeatedly replace torque converter
2. If the converter replacement fails to resolve the issue,
proceed to replace the Mechatronic.
