Reverse Gear Signal

2001 BMW Z8SECTION Reverse Gear Signal

The navigation computer receives a reverse gear signal to determine direction of travel.

Wheel speed signals are not directional, therefore an indication of the direction of travel needed.

On all vehicles except the E46, the reverse gear signal comes from the LCM. The E46 reverse gear input signal comes from a splice connection to the reverse lights.
