SUBJECT:
MS43 DME Removal Precautions - EGS Failure Avoidance

MODEL:
All with MS43 control unit

Situation:
The MS43 control module may stay "alive" after the key is off, due to the DM-TL test.

If the following procedure is not followed, irreparable damage to the EGS control module will occur.

PROCEDURE

1. Always verify that the ignition key is in the "off" position before disconnecting the DME.

2. Allow, at least, 3 minutes to elapse, after the key was set to the "OFF" position before disconnecting the DME. This will allow for sufficient time to complete the DM-TL test.
