SUBJECT:
E46 IHKA Control Panel: LED in A/C Button Flashes

MODEL:
E46

Situation:
After installation of a new IHKA control module, the LED in the A/C button (snow flake button) flashes.

Cause:
Flashing A/C LED indicates that the IHKA module is in the A/C compressor protection mode (function designed to ensure adequate refrigerant distribution during the initial operation of the Air Conditioning system).

Correction:
After replacement of the IHKA module, the A/C system should be operated for more than 90 seconds at an engine speed below 1500 rpm to disable the compressor protection feature (until the A/C LED stops flashing).

Warranty Information: For information only.
