PRECAUTIONS WHEN REPLACING OR REPAIRING PARTS

- When servicing components: cap or plug all open ports.

Technician tip: save the plugs and caps from new replacement parts for future use.

- Have all parts and tools laid out ahead of time.
- Do not remove plugs or caps from A/C components until just before installation.
- Never combine R-12 and R-134a.
- Use only those refrigerants that are approved for automotive use (R-12 and R-134a). Do not use R-22 or any other refrigerant.
- Use only refrigerant oil for lubrication when assembling seals and "O"-rings.
- Use a blast of compressed air or wipe fittings and connections clean before and after repair, to prevent dirt from entering the system
