Automatic transmission clean working conditions, refer to CLEAN WORKING CONDITIONS .
Coat the O-ring and seals with ATF or Vaseline. Other types of lubrication lead to faults in the transmission hydraulics.

Disassembling
-- Secure the transmission on the assembly stand. Refer to TRANSMISSION, SECURING TO ASSEMBLY STAND .
- The transmission must be horizontal; the ATF pan faces down.
-- Remove the torque converter.
-- Extract the ATF from the torque converter.
-- Place the V.A.G 1782 under the transmission.
-- Remove the ATF drain plug -arrow A- and let the ATF drain.
