SERVICE INFORMATION
Technical changes, new products and components necessitate a new program card, USA/CDN/6 for the VAG 1551 Scan TO01 (ST). Equipment with the old USA/CDN/5 program cards are no longer suitable for the service and repair of new vehicle systems. The information below will give you some information about the new features.
NEW VEHICLE SYSTEMS WITH SELF-DIAGNOSIS
The new USA/CDN/6 program card incorporates program text for new vehicle systems with the address words:
34 - Self-leveling suspension
45 - Interior monitoring
55 - Headlight range control
16 - Steering wheel electronics
46 - Central module convenience system
56 - Radio
66 - Seat/mirror adjustment
76 - Parking aid
18 - Additional/aux.heater
CHANGES IN FUNCTIONS
In the functions "04-Basic setting" and "08-Read measured value block", the display group number should no longer be input as a two digit number but rather as a three digit number (000-255):
Every Audi Dealer will be shipped one USA/CDN/6 program card, freight prepaid from Zelenda Tool Company and invoiced directly by Equipment Solutions. Shipments will commence the week of July 15, 1996, and conclude the same week.
If you wish to order additional USA/CDN/6 program cards, please notify EQUIPMENT SOLUTIONS at (800-892-9650) by July 12, 1996. Individual program cards may also be ordered from EQUIPMENT SOLUTIONS after the automatic shipment takes place. All shipping and billing inquires should be directed to EQUIPMENT SOLUTIONS.

INSTRUCTIONS TO OBTAIN $20.00 CREDIT FOR USA/CDN/5 RETURN
- Install new USA/CDN/6 program cards into VAG 1551.
- Connect VAG 1551 to vehicle data link connector(s).
- Program dealer code, name and address into VAG 1551.
- Depress "C" button.
- Depress button "3" to initiate the self test sequence.
- Send printout along with USA/CDN/5 card to Zelenda Tool Company using enclosed self addressed prepaid postage envelope. Equipment solutions will issue the $20.00 credit ($27.80 CDN) on the next automatic shipment invoice (after AT-133) that your dealer receives.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR USA/CDN/6
- Remove VAG 1551 program card protective cover from VAG 1551. See Fig 2 .
- Remove old USA/CDN/5 program card.
- Install new USA/CDN/6 program card (without touching card contacts) in direction shown in Fig 3 .
- Close VAG 1551 program card cover and secure with screw.
- Connect the VAG 1551 to vehicle using VAG 1551/1 cable (black & white data link connectors or VAG 1551/3 diagnostic cable).
- Turn vehicle ignition on.
- Depress button (3) on the VAG 1551 to initiate the self test sequence.
- Follow self test instructions as displayed on VAG 1551 readout.
- The VAG 1551 is now ready for use.
