Audio cannot control HVAC by voice command (2017 2018 2019 2020)
- Check the vehicle battery condition first - Refer to: Battery Test (2016 2017 2018 2019 2020) or Battery Test (2014 2015) .
- If the voice control does not respond with any voice commands, Refer to Voice control does not work/respond .
- Check for B-CAN DTCs and resolve them before troubleshooting.
- Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.
- Problem verification
-1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
- 2. Pressing the TALK button, then give a voice command "Climate control" clearly in a natural speaking voice.
Does the climate control system turn on by the voice command?
YES
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.
NO
The failure is duplicated, go to step 2.
- Determine possible failure area (B-CAN circuit, others)
-1. Turn the climate control system to on.
Is the climate control system icon displayed on the ODMD (TM)?
YES
NO
Go to step 3.
- Open wire check (B-CAN_H line, B-CAN_L line)
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
- 2. Disconnect the following connectors.
NOTE:Eject the disc before disconnecting the audio unit to prevent damaging the CD/DVD player's load mechanism.
Audio unit connector A (24P) Climate control unit connector B (28P) - 3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Audio unit connector A (24P): disconnected Climate control unit connector A (28P): disconnected Test point 1 Audio unit connector A (24P) No. 4 - Refer to: Audio Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2014 2015), or Audio Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2016), or Audio Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2017), or Audio Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2018 2019 2020) Test point 2 Climate control unit connector B (28P) No. 9 - Refer to: Climate Control Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2014 2015), or Climate Control Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2016), or Climate Control Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2017 2018 2019 2020) Test point 1 Audio unit connector A (24P) No. 2 - Refer to: Audio Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2014 2015), or Audio Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2016), or Audio Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2017), or Audio Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2018 2019 2020) Test point 2 Climate control unit connector B (28P) No. 10 - Refer to: Climate Control Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2014 2015), or Climate Control Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2016), or Climate Control Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2017 2018 2019 2020) Is there continuity?
YES
Replace the climate control unit .
NO
Repair an open in the wire (s).
