Voice control does not work/respond

2018 Acura MDX BaseSECTION Voice control does not work/respond
NOTE:
  • Check the vehicle battery condition first - Refer to: Battery Test (2014 2015), or Battery Test (2016 2017 2018 2019 2020) .
  • Before assuming that a voice complaint is hardware related, ensure that the voice control system is being operated correctly.
    • Close the windows and moonroof
    • Set the fan speed to low (1 or 2)
    • Adjust the air flow from the air conditioning vents so that they do not blow against the microphone on the ceiling
    • Pause after pressing the TALK button then give a voice command clearly in a natural speaking voice. If the system cannot recognize your command, speak louder
    • If you speak a command with something in your mouth, or your voice is too husky, or high pitched, the system may misunderstand your command
  • If possible, have the client demonstrate their concern, then compare it to a known-good vehicle of the same year/trim with the same software version. If the client's concern is duplicated on the known-good vehicle, it is a characteristic of the system.
