2008 Acura RDXSECTION Power Window Master Switch Input Test
NOTE:
The power window control unit is built into the power window master switch.
- Remove the power window master switch (A) (see POWER WINDOW SWITCH REPLACEMENT ).
- Reconnect the driver's door wire harness (B) to the driver's door sub harness (C).
- Inspect the connector and socket terminals to be sure they are all making good contact.
- If the terminals are bent, loose or corroded, repair them as necessary, and recheck the system.
- If the terminals look OK, make the following input tests at the connector.
- If a test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system.
- If all the input tests prove OK, the power window master switch must be faulty; replace it.
- With the master switch still disconnected, make these input tests at the connector.
- If any test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system.
- If all the input tests prove OK, go to step 5.

- An open in the wire
- Poor ground (G501)
21 LT BLU Connect the No. 21 and the No. 15 terminals and No. 20 and No. 22 terminals momentarily with jumper wires Check driver's power window motor operation:
The window should go up.2 PUR Under all conditions Check for continuity between the No. 2 terminal and No. 3 terminal of the front passenger's power window switch 14P connector:
There should be continuity.An open in the wire 13 LT

ORN *2Under all conditions Check for continuity between the No. 13 terminal and No. 3 terminal of the left rear power window switch 14P connector:
There should be continuity.An open in the wire 12 GRN Under all conditions Check for continuity between the No. 12 terminal and No. 3 terminal of the right rear power window switch 14P connector:
There should be continuity.An open in the wire 8 BRN Ignition switch ON (II) Measure the voltage to ground:
There should be less than 1 V.- Faulty MICU
- An open in the wire
NOTE:- *1 : '07 model
- *2 : '08-'09 models
- Reconnect the 22P connector to the power window master switch. Turn the ignition switch ON (II), and make these input tests at the connector.
- If any test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system.
- If all the input tests prove OK, the control unit must be faulty; replace the power window master switch.

There should be battery voltage.- Blown No. 4 (P/W) (40 A) fuse in the under-hood fuse/relay box
- Faulty power window relay
- An open in the wire
15 WHT Under all conditions Measure the voltage to ground:
There should be battery voltage.- Blown No. 26 (20 A) fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box
- An open in the wire
11 BRN Under all conditions Measure the voltage to ground:
There should be less than 0.5 V.- Poor ground (G501)
- An open in the wire
22 BLK Under all conditions Measure the voltage to ground:
There should be less than 0.5 V.- Poor ground (G501)
- An open in the wire
7 RED Ignition switch ON (II) Measure the voltage to ground:
There should be battery voltage.- Faulty driver's power window master switch
- A short to ground in the wire
5 GRN Ignition switch ON (II), and driver's power window switch moving up or down Measure the voltage between the No. 5 and No. 7 terminals:
There should be 0 V-about 5 V-0 V-about 5 V repeatedly (a digital voltmeter should read about 2.5 V while the window moves).- Faulty driver's power window motor
- An open in the wire
- A short to ground in the wire
6 ORN Ignition switch ON (II), and driver's power window switch moving up or down Measure the voltage between the No. 6 and No. 7 terminals:
There should be 0 V-about 5 V-0 V-about 5 V repeatedly (a digital voltmeter should read about 2.5 V while the window moves). - Reset the power window control unit (see RESETTING THE POWER WINDOW CONTROL UNIT ).
