Throttle Cable Adjustment

- Remove Intake manifold cover. See Figure. Start engine and run at 3000 RPM, with all accessories off, until radiator fan comes on. Allow engine to idle.
- Hold throttle link to throttle lever and ensure there is no clearance. Check cable free play at throttle linkage. Cable deflection should be .36-.50" (9-13 mm). If necessary, loosen lock nut and turn adjusting nut until deflection is within range. See Fig 1. Retighten lock nut.
- With cable properly adjusted, ensure throttle valve opens fully with accelerator pedal fully depressed. Ensure throttle valve returns fully to idle position when pedal is released.
