Electric Oil Pump
On vehicles with an automatic gearbox there is an electric oil pump. The task of the oil pump is to ensure that the correct pressure and flow is maintained to the gearbox during automatic start/stop of the engine, at the request of the Transmission Control Module (TCM).
The oil pump is available in different versions and has different locations depending on the model of the automatic gearbox. See appropriate Design and Function information for the Transmission Control Module (TCM) for further information.
