2017 Volvo XC60 T6 InscriptionSECTION Tailgate System
The task of the Power Operated Tailgate Module (POT) is to check the tailgate's electro hydraulic opening and closing mechanism. To achieve this, it is included in a system together with the following components:

- | Their task is to prevent entrapment injuries by transmitting a signal to the Power Operated Tailgate Module (POT) if something obstructs the tailgate's movement. Then the movement in progress is cancelled. The pinch sensors are located in the moldings on the tailgate and register pressure all the way along these. |

Using this valve, the Power Operated Tailgate Module (POT) can increase and decrease the pressure depending on if the vehicle is located on an uphill/downhill grade and what the outdoor temperature is when the tailgate is activated. Is located on the hydraulic pump. |

| 8 | Sensor 1 (inner lock position) | Lock motor central locking system tailgate (6/8) | Detects, together with Sensor 2 (outer lock position) if the tailgate is fully closed, in the outer lock position or open. |
| 9 | Sensor 2 (outer lock position) | Lock motor central locking system tailgate (6/8) | Detects, together with Sensor 1 (inner lock position) if the tailgate is fully closed, in the outer lock position or open. |
| 10 | Angle sensor | Power Operated Tailgate Module (POT) (4/116) | Checks the angle of the tailgate and vehicle. The vehicle angle is measured when the tailgate is closed. During opening and closing phases, this sensor checks if the tailgate has jammed. The sensor also checks that the tailgate has reached fully open position. |
| In addition, the following two components are indirectly considered part of the system: | |||
| 11 | Inner, switch | Light switch module (LSM) (3/111) | Used for opening the tailgate. The switch is diagnosed by the Central electronic module (CEM). The switch must be held in for 1.5 seconds to activate opening. |
| 12 | Remote key | - | If the button with symbol for tailgate is pressed in for 1.5 seconds, the tailgate opens. |
