Safety Warning
DIY auto repair can cause serious injury, fire, or vehicle damage. These guides are for informational purposes only. Always follow OEM torque specs, wear PPE, and consult a certified mechanic if you are unsure. You are solely responsible for your safety.
Remote Control
Remote control on the steering wheel (standard/option) is directly connected to the Steering wheel module (SWM) via serial communication. Volume (reduce-increase) and selection of pre-programmed radio stations can be operated via remote control. During CD or USB/iPod playback, the buttons work as track selection.
The Steering wheel module (SWM) (3/254) communicates via LIN with the Central electronic module (CEM) (4/56) and on to the Infotainment control module (ICM) (16/94) via the CAN network.
The Infotainment control module (ICM) transmits the signals on to the Integrated Audio Module (IAM) (16/1) via the MOST network.
