Condition
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects that:
- Reverse drive is not engaged when the gear selector is moved to R.
The control module's test for the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) starts in the event of:
- Engine running.

- Auxiliary program Emergency mode 1 in the transmission control module (TCM) has started.

Possible source
- Solenoid S2 has jammed in the ON position.
- Mechanical fault in the transmission.
