Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information

Condition
The control module is continuously supplied with information about the position and status of the brake pedal switch from the brake control module (BCM) via CAN communication.
The control module checks the communication with the Brake control module (BCM).
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects that:
- Information from Brake control module (BCM) is incorrect/unreasonable.
The control module's test for the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) starts in the event of:
- Ignition switch position II.

Note! The control module can only detect the fault once the test has been started and the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored when the conditions are met.

Hint: If Engine control module (ECM) has been recharged or if the battery voltage has been interrupted, the brake pedal must be pressed down twice for approx. two seconds to activate the cruise control function.
