The task of the Power Operated Tailgate Module (POT) is to check the tailgate's automatic opening and closing mechanism. To achieve this, it is included in a system together with the following components:

3 Switch handle License plate lighting (10/3) Used for opening the tailgate.
Located in the center of the outside of the tailgate.
4 Switch closing boot lid - Button for closing the tailgate.
Is located on the lower edge of the tailgate.
5 Lighting luggage compartment - Β 
6 Motor closing, boot lid - Pulls in the tailgate the last bit.
Is located by the lock unit in the tailgate.
7 Lock bolt Lock motor central locking system tailgate (6/8) Lock bolt releases when the lid is to be opened.
Locks the boot lid shut when the lid is closed.
8 Sensor 1 (inner lock position) Lock motor central locking system tailgate (6/8) Detects together with Sensor 2 (outer lock position) if the tailgate is fully closed, in the inner lock position or open. Is integrated in the lock unit.
9 Sensor 2 (outer lock position) Lock motor central locking system tailgate (6/8) Detects together with Sensor 1 (inner lock position) if the tailgate is fully closed, in the outer lock position or open. Is integrated in the lock unit.
In addition, the following two components are indirectly considered part of the system:
10 Inner, switch Light switch module (LSM) (3/111) Used for opening the boot lid. The switch is diagnosed by the Central electronic module (CEM). The switch must be held in for 500 milliseconds to activate opening.
11 Remote key - If the button with the boot lid symbol is depressed for 500 milliseconds, the boot lid opens.
