Replacing The Control Module
When replacing the electrical power steering module (EPS), new software must be downloaded into the new module. New software must be downloaded because the software is optimized for the profile of the car.
A diagnostic trouble code is stored if the software is not downloaded to a new control module, and the power steering function will not correspond to the profile of the car.

When to See a Mechanic
