Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information

2007 Volvo XC90 AWD V8-4.4L VIN 85 B8444SSECTION Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information

Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information

Condition

Note! The diagnostic trouble code only applies to vehicles equipped with DSTC.

The AYC sensor for DSTC consists of a yaw speed sensor, lateral accelerometer, accelerometer (AWD only) and inclination sensor (RSC only). Via its own internal CAN network, the sensors transmit information to the brake control module (BCM) on the size of the yaw angle, vehicle acceleration both laterally and straight ahead as well as lateral inclination.
If the brake control module (BCM) registers a defective signal from one of the sensors, diagnostic trouble code BCM-C006101, BCM-C006201, BCM-C006301, or BCM-C111401 is generated depending on the sensor.
- BCM-C006101: Lateral accelerometer
- BCM-C006201: Accelerometer
- BCM-C006301: Yaw speed sensor
- BCM-C111401: Inclination sensor
The diagnostic trouble code can be diagnosed when the ignition is on.

Substitute value
- TC is blocked.
- SC is blocked.
- AYC is blocked.
- RSC is blocked (only vehicles with RSC).

Possible source
- Open circuit or short circuit to ground on AYC sensor cables.
- Internal malfunction in AYC sensor.

Note! This diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is not due to an internal hardware fault in the Brake control module (BCM) and must not be remedied by replacing the control module.

Fault symptom[s]
- General warning light on.
- Anti-spin is not operational.
- The stability function is not operational.
- The anti-skid function is not operational.

When to See a Mechanic

Stop DIY work and contact a certified mechanic immediately if any of the following apply:

  • You smell fuel, burning insulation, or see smoke.
  • Brakes feel soft, pull hard to one side, or make grinding noises.
  • The engine overheats, stalls repeatedly, or misfires under load.
  • You are missing required tools, torque specs, or safe lifting equipment.
  • You are not confident in the next step or safety outcome.
