Information about false alarm, XC90 with mass movement sensor (MMS) and sun roof
On certain vehicles the alarm can be triggered by the mass movement sensor (MMS 2) in the event of heavy rain. This is due to the position of the senor in relation to the sun roof. To remedy this problem a repair method and repair kit have been introduced. If mass movement sensor (MMS 2) has triggered the alarm on several occasions and no other fault has been found, the position of the mass movement sensor (MMS 2) should be altered. See the Service bulletin for reducing false alarms.
