Condition
Transmission shifting and the lock-up function are controlled by the transmission control module (TCM) activating the solenoids in a specific pattern. Shift solenoids S1-S2 are activated depending on which gear the control module has chosen. The control module then adjusts how engagement occurs by controlling the hydraulic pressure linearly via linear solenoids SLT, SLU, SLC1, SLC2, SLC3 and SLB1. The basic parameters for the various gear shifting points are the position of the accelerator pedal (AP) and the vehicle speed, while the shifting quality is determined with the aid of the torque control. By reading off the changes in engine speed (RPM) on the transmission input shaft during the shifting process and comparing with the values calculated in the transmission control module (TCM), the pressurization of clutches and brakes can be adapted.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects that:
- Too little time between shifts.
The control module's test for the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) starts in the event of:
- Normal driving.
Substitute value
- Auxiliary program Emergency mode 1 in the transmission control module (TCM) has started.
Hint: Emergency mode in the event of a fault, B6324S, TF-80SC, B6324S, TF-80SC AWD Emergency Mode In the Event of a Fault
Possible source
- Mechanical fault in the transmission.
- Hydraulic fault in the transmission.
Fault symptom[s]
- General warning lamp lit
- Vibration and jerking when shifting
- Rough gear shift
- Abnormal slipping gearshifts

- β’ Brakes feel soft, pull hard to one side, or make grinding noises.
- β’ The engine overheats, stalls repeatedly, or misfires under load.
- β’ You are missing required tools, torque specs, or safe lifting equipment.
- β’ You are not confident in the next step or safety outcome.
