The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects that:
- Idling speed is 200 rpm greater than the nominal idling speed.
The control module's test for the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) starts in the event of:
- Run the engine to operating temperature (coolant temperature greater than 80 °C).
- Stationary vehicle idling.
