Description Of Activations

2007 Volvo V50 L5-2.4L VIN 38 B5244S4SECTION Description Of Activations

Description of activations

Hint: Not all the components/functions described need to be implemented in the control module. This varies between different systems and markets.

Parameters, value

Throttle position, circuit 1 (%)
Measurement range -3 - +130 %.
Normal value 0 - 100 %.
There is an electrical fault if the displayed value is outside the measurement range.
The value must increase with increased throttle angle.
Approximately 0 % = throttle closed.
Approximately 100 % = wide open throttle (WOT).

Throttle position, circuit 2 (%)
Measurement range -4 - +140 %.
Normal value 0 - 100 %.
There is an electrical fault if the displayed value is outside the measurement range.
The value must increase with increased throttle angle.
Approximately 0 % = throttle closed.
Approximately 100 % = wide open throttle (WOT).

Component / function

Injectors 1-5
Injectors 1-5 open and close approximately 6 times per second for 30 seconds.
The injector clicks.
The engine must be switched off.

Air conditioning (A/C) relay
Activated using the start button and stopped using the stop button. Air conditioning A/C must be requested from the control panel.
The air conditioning A/C magnetic clutch clicks.

Engine cooling fan (FC)
The fan is activated using the start button and stopped using the stop button.
The fan can be heard.

Leak diagnostic unit, valve
Certain markets only.
A clicking noise is heard from the valve in the leak diagnostic unit at activation.

Evaporative emission system (EVAP) valve
The evaporative emission system (EVAP) valve opens and closes 5 times per second. Activated using the start button and stopped using the stop button.
The EVAP valve clicks.

Electronic throttle module (ETM) 50/75/100%
The shutter in the electronic throttle module (ETM) opens.
The throttle opens to different positions depending on which activation is selected (50, 75 or 100 %).
Read off "Throttle angle, actual value", "Throttle position, circuit 1" or "Throttle position, circuit 2" to check the function.
The engine must be switched off at activation.
