Condition
The engine control module (ECM) checks the communication to the steering wheel module (SWM).
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) ECM-922C is stored in the engine control module (ECM) if the engine control module (ECM) receives an incorrect check sum or if the update bit from the steering wheel module (SWM) is missing.
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) ECM-922C can be diagnosed when the ignition is on.

- The cruise control is disengaged when the fault is active.

- Faulty software in the central electronic module (CEM)
- Fault in controller area network (CAN) communication
- Defective steering wheel module (SWM).
