Checking for air leakage and checking components
Check for air leakage from the exhaust system.
Replace all injectors. (Applies to B5244S/S2 model year 2001-2002).
If the above fault-tracing does not rectify the fault, test with a new catalytic converter.
Remedy as necessary.

Hint: After repair it is necessary to check that the malfunction has been corrected.
- Start the engine and let it idle until it has reached operating temperature (approx. 80 °C).
- Test-drive the vehicle on road. Perform float driving (normal road load), constant speed around 70-90 km/h for approx. 30-40 seconds.
- Connect VCT2000 to the diagnostics socket without turning off the engine.
Note! If the engine is turned off, stored fault status will be erased and the test-drive has to be repeated.
Read off the diagnostic status and fault status for the diagnostic trouble code.
Check that the diagnostic has been "Performed" and that fault status is "No fault found". If fault status is "Fault found", this indicates a malfunction.
Does the fault status show "No fault found"?
Yes - VERIFIED
No - VERIFICATION FAILED
