Safety Warning
DIY auto repair can cause serious injury, fire, or vehicle damage. These guides are for informational purposes only. Always follow OEM torque specs, wear PPE, and consult a certified mechanic if you are unsure. You are solely responsible for your safety.
Self-Diagnostic System: Notes
When ignition switch is turned to ON position SRS warning light located in instrument panel light bar should come on. If SRS warning light does not come on, go to SRS WARNING LIGHT PROBLEMS. If SRS warning light remains on for longer than 10 seconds, an SRS fault code is present. WAIT 20 seconds to allow SRS to complete its own system self-diagnostics. Grounding the SRS test terminal with jumper wire will cause SRS warning light on instrument panel to display fault codes in crash sensor memory. Fault codes are indicated by different combinations of flashes. Fault codes are displayed 4 seconds apart. Crash sensor will display all fault codes in its memory only once.
