  1. On 2.3L models, turn ignition off. Connect an ohmmeter between pump relay terminal No. 87 and ECU terminal No. 13. Correct resistance should be approximately 4 ohms.
  2. On 2.8L models, turn ignition off. Connect an ohmmeter between control unit terminal No. 13 and terminal No. 9 of 25-terminal connector. Correct resistance should be approximately 2.6-2.7 ohms.
  3. On 2.3L models, if meter shows approximately 5.3 ohms, either an injector or injector wire is defective. If meter reads approximately 8 ohms, 2 injectors or injector wires are defective. If meter shows 16 ohms, 3 injectors or injector wires are defective.
  4. On 2.8L models, if meter shows approximately 3.2 ohms, either an injector or injector wire is defective. If meter reads approximately 4 ohms, 2 injectors or injector wires are defective. If meter shows 5.3 ohms, 3 injectors or injector wires are defective.
  5. On all models, injectors may be tested separately. Each injector should have a resistance of 16 ohms.
