Rear Motor, Installing
Special tools and workshop equipment required
- Transmission Support: 3282
- Engine and Gearbox Jack: VAS 6931
- Socket - Xzn 16: T10198
Three-Phase Current Drive -VX54- with Electric Drive Power and Control Electronics -JX1- will be subsequently called motor.
Installing
Condition
- The motor with the transmission is secured on the Transmission Support: 3282 and the Engine and Gearbox Jack: VAS 6931 . Refer to Rear Motor, Removing .
-- Lift the motor and the transmission -1- until it is 150 mm away from the installation position.
-- Connect the connector -1- above the transmission and close the locking bracket in the -direction of the arrow A-.
-- Tighten the bolts -2- and -3-.
-- Connect the coolant hose -1- above the transmission and close the locking mechanism -2-. Check for secure lock by pulling in the other direction.
-- Connect the breather line -3-.
-- Close the clip -arrow A- and -arrow B-.
-- Lift the motor with the transmission -1- far enough so that the bolts for the motor and transmission mounts can be positioned.
-- Tighten the bolts for the motor and transmission mount using the Socket - Xzn 16: T10198 .
-- Install the bracket -1- for the potential equalization cable to the transmission and tighten the nut -arrow-.
-- Install the left and right drive axles. Refer to DRIVE AXLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Further installation is performed in reverse order of removal, while noting the following:
High voltage increases the risk of fatal injury
Electrocution can cause severe bodily or fatal injury.
- Have a high-voltage technician or an high-voltage expert bring the high-voltage system back into service.

If the Three-Phase Current Drive -VX54- or the Electric Drive Power and Control Electronics -JX1- :
