CAUTION:

If the camera can no longer recognize the lane markings due to poor visibility, this could be caused by:

  • The camera field of view is dirty or icy. In this case, the contamination or icing must be removed.
  • The camera view field is fogged over.

If heavy contamination at the inside of the windshield in the viewer of the camera is present, then the viewer of the camera must be cleaned by hand. For this, the control module and the lens must be removed and the windshield has to be cleaned with cleaning solution. The correct calibration is a basic requirement for the correct function of the front camera.

It is necessary to calibrate the front camera anew for the following reasons:

  • "No or incorrect basic setting/adaptation" is stored in the event memory.
  • The front camera has been replaced.
  • The windshield was replaced or removed.
  • The rear axle toe was adjusted.
  • Work was performed on the chassis which influences the body height.
  • The level control system sensor was readapted on vehicles with damping regulation.
CAUTION:
  • Before calibrating the driver assistance systems front camera, the DTC memory must be checked and any faults corrected if necessary.
  • Calibration of the driver assistance systems front camera may only be performed with a VW/AUDI approved alignment tester!
  • Only the Setting Device Basic Set: VAS 6430/1Β  may be used to calibrate the driver assistance systems front camera.
