TPMS Reset Procedures

2016 Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line, AWDSECTION TPMS Reset Procedures
NOTE: Whenever a wheel is changed or replaced, tire pressure adjusted, or the tires rotated, the TPM system needs to be reset.

When the low tire pressure warning light comes on, immediately check air pressure of all tires and adjust to the specified pressure. Reset TPM system. Ensure that warning indicators are not displayed.

CAUTION: DO NOT reset TPM system until all problems are fixed and tire pressure in all tires has been adjusted. If reset procedure is done when tire pressures are incorrect, TPM system will not work properly and may not set an alert when a tire pressure is low or high.
  1. Set the tire pressure of all wheels to specified pressure.
  2. With vehicle stopped and parking brake applied, turn ignition switch to ON position.
  3. In the MFI (Multifunction Indicator), navigate to the SETTINGS menu.
    NOTE: The MFI is controlled by either steering wheel buttons (Fig 1), or buttons on the wiper/washer lever (Fig 2).
  4. Select TIRE PRESSURE.
  5. Store and confirm the new tire pressures.
  6. Reset is completed by 20 minutes of normal driving.
