WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
Always make sure that no dirt enters an open transmission. Dirt entering can cause the transmission to malfunction especially if the DSG® Transmission Mechatronic -J743- and/or the oil pump are open.
- Do not run the engine and do not tow the vehicle if the transmission cover is removed or if there is no transmission fluid inside the transmission.
- Always clean the connection points and the area around them first, and then loosen them.
- When installing transmission, make sure centering sleeves are correctly seated between engine and transmission.
- Place removed parts on a clean surface and cover them so that they do not get dirty. Use foil and paper. Use a lint-free cloth.
- Only install clean components. Install replacement parts immediately after removing them from their packaging.
- Carefully cover or plug unpacked components if repairs cannot be performed immediately.
