- Replace the O-rings, seals and gaskets.
- Flange shaft, torque converter and selector shaft seals are called shaft seals.
- After removing the seals, check the sealing surfaces on the housing or shaft for burrs resulting from removal or damage.
- Before installing the seal rings, lightly oil the outer circumference and fill the space between the sealing lips -arrow- halfway with GreaseG052128A1.
- Use DSG® transmission fluid only. Other lubricants cause malfunctions.
- The open side of the seals point toward the fluid to be sealed in.
- After installing, check transmission fluid level and fill, refer to TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVEL, CHECKING AND FILLING .
