Removal And Installation: Radiator

2012 Volkswagen Jetta TDI, 4D Wagon, Standard TransSECTION Radiator

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

  • Refractometer T10007A
  • Torque Wrench 1783 - 2-10Nm VAG1783
  • Shop Crane - Drip Tray VAS6208

Removing 

-- Move the lock carrier into the service position. Refer to Description and Operation .

-- Drain the coolant. Refer to DRAINING AND FILLING .

-- Remove the upper coolant hose clamp and remove the coolant hose from the radiator quick-release coupling.

-- Disconnect the connector for the fans.

-- Remove the radiator bolts, refer to -item 10- in the COOLING SYSTEM COMPONENT OVERVIEW, BODY SIDE  and remove the radiator upward with the fan shroud and fans.

Installing 

Install in the reverse order of removal. Note the following:

-- Fill with coolant. Refer to DRAINING AND FILLING .
