Engine, Installing: Notes

2012 Volkswagen Jetta TDI, 4D Sedan, Standard TransSECTION Notes

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

Servicing clutch

-- Make sure the alignment bushings for centering the engine/transmission are installed inside the cylinder block. Install them if necessary.

A Alignment sleeves for centering

Vehicles with a manual transmission 

-- Install the hydraulic line to the hydraulic clutch. Refer to [For transmission(s) 02Q] Removal and Installation[For transmission(s) 02E] [For engine(s) CJAA] Removal and Installation .

-- Install the gearshift mechanism on the transmission and adjust it if necessary. Refer to [For transmission(s) 02Q] Removal and Installation .

-- Bleed the clutch. Refer to [For transmission(s) 02Q] General Information .

Vehicles with a DSG transmission 

-- Install the selector lever cable on the transmission and adjust it if necessary. Refer to [For transmission(s) 02E] [For engine(s) CJAA] Removal and Installation .

For all vehicles 

-- Make sure there is enough clearance for the subframe and radiator when installing the engine/transmission sub-assembly.

-- Adjust the subframe mount. Refer to SUBFRAME MOUNT, ADJUSTING .

NOTE:

Make sure the particulate filter is not under tension when installed.

Replace the self-locking nuts, the seals, the gaskets and clamps.

Electrical Connections and Wiring Routing. Refer to 97 WIRING .
