NOTE:

Before troubleshooting or servicing, the technicians must be familiar with the function and operation of the multimedia system.

The multimedia system functions only when the radio or radio navigation system is switched on.

Remote control must be pointed at monitor or DVD player when operated because receivers are installed there.

When the battery is reconnected, check any affected system or component (radio, clock, comfort electrical connection etc.) according to the repair information and/or the operating instructions.

CDs which are not round (so-called shape-CDs) must not be inserted, as they may destroy the disc drive.

Media Which Can Be Played Back

  • Audio CD: CD, CD-R, CD-RW and CDs with mp3 data
  • Video CD: VCD and SVCD in MPEG 1 format
  • DVD-Video in MPEG 2 format
NOTE:

No other formats are supported.

All self-generated media may lead to limitations during playback and ease of control.

The multimedia system offers passengers in the rear seats versatile options for amusement.

It is equipped with a DVD player.

DVD films and video CDs in various formats can be played back with the DVD player. In addition, it is also possible to playback audio CDs which have been recorded in the.wav or mp3 formats.

Sound is output via the headphones, however sound playback is also possible via all vehicle loudspeakers via the radio unit in the CD changer function. Furthermore, accessories for the playback of other image- and sound sources can also be connected. These may be video- and audio units or also a video game system console. The multimedia system consists of the following components:

  • a 7-inch monitor in liquid crystal technology (TFT/LCD display) in roof console.
  • a DVD player in the center console.
  • a control unit in the rear center console.
  • a multimedia control module below front right seat.
  • a remote control for the multimedia system.
  • Two headphones for the multimedia system.

Control module for multimedia system is connected to the monitor, DVD player, radio unit and control unit components via two connectors.
