^ Always replace self locking nuts and bolts.
^ Welding or straighten work on any steering components is not permissible.
^ All parts identified with 1) must be assembled outside the vehicle.
1 - Airbag unit
2- Hex-nut, tighten to 67 Nm.
3 - Washer
4- Steering wheel for airbag
5 - Torx screw Tag, 6.5 Nm
^ Always replace
6 - Spacer bushing
7 - Steering column switches
8 - Clamping washer 1)
9 - Upper spring 1)
10 - Upper trim
11 - Steering lock housing 1)
12 - Snap-off screw 1)
^ tighten until head snaps off
^ to remove, drill out
13 - Hex bolt, 50 Nm
^ 15 mm
14 - steering column tube
15 - Ball bearing 1)
16 - Hex bolt, 23 Nm
17 - Mounting plate
18 - Lower trim
19 - Supporting - ring 1)
20 - Steering rod tube 1)
^ with slip clutch and peened
21 - Hex bolt
^ Always replace
22 - Self locking hex nut
^ 30 Nm + 90° (1/4 turn)
^ Always replace
23 - Hex bolt, 20 Nm
24 - Protective sleeve
25 - Self locking hex nut
^ 30 Nm + 90° (1/4 turn)
^ Always replace
26 - Hex bolt
^ Always replace
27 - Base plate with centering pin
28 - Lower - intermediate steering shaft
