NOTE:
  • It is extremely important to keep to the tightening torque of 20 Nm to ensure the knock sensors function normally.
  • Only gold plated terminals may be used when servicing the knock sensor harness connector terminals.

  • Scan Tool (ST) VAG 1551 or mobile scan tool VAG 1552 with adapter cable VAG 1551/3
  • Test box VAG 1598/31
  • Multimeter (Fluke 83 or equivalent)
  • Adapter set VW 1594
