Removal [10/2019 - 08/2020]: Procedure

2020 Toyota RAV4 XLE, AWDSECTION Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

  2. REMOVE HV BATTERY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [10/2019 - 06/2020] , or refer to REMOVAL [06/2020 - 08/2020]

  3. REMOVE UPPER HV BATTERY COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  4. REMOVE NO. 1 HV BATTERY SHIELD PANEL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  5. REMOVE HYBRID BATTERY TERMINAL BLOCK 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves and protective goggles.

    1. Remove the bolt to separate the hybrid battery terminal block from the HV battery.

    2. Disconnect the 2 hybrid battery terminal block connectors to remove the hybrid battery terminal block.

      NOTE:

      Insulate the disconnected high-voltage connectors with insulating tape.
