Removal [11/2018 - 02/2019]: Procedure
2020 Toyota RAV4 XLE, AWDSECTION Procedure

- DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT
Refer to REPLACEMENT [11/2018 - 02/2019]
- REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 26
- REMOVE INLET AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY
- REMOVE AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE
- Disconnect the mass air flow meter sub-assembly connector.
- Detach the wire harness clamp.
- Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 2 PCV hose from the cylinder head cover sub-assembly.
*a Grommet *b Pin - Loosen the hose clamp and disconnect the air cleaner hose from the throttle body with motor assembly.
- Detach the 2 grommets and pin to remove the air cleaner assembly with air cleaner hose.
- Disconnect the mass air flow meter sub-assembly connector.
- REMOVE THROTTLE BODY WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY
- Disconnect the throttle body with motor assembly connector.
- Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 5 water by-pass hose from the throttle body with motor assembly.
- Remove the 3 bolts and disconnect the throttle body with motor assembly from the intake manifold.
- Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 6 water by-pass hose to remove the throttle body with motor assembly.NOTE:
If the throttle body with motor assembly has been struck or dropped, replace it.
- Remove the throttle body gasket from the intake manifold.
- Disconnect the throttle body with motor assembly connector.
