DTC P0606-47: Control Module Processor Watchdog/Safety MCU Failure [11/2018 - 08/2020]: Procedure

2020 Toyota RAV4 XLE, AWDSECTION Procedure

  1. CLEAR DTC 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Clear the DTCs.

      Powertrain > Engine > Clear DTCs 

    5. Turn the power switch off.

      Result

      Proceed to
      NEXT

    Result:

  2. READ OUTPUT DTC (DTC P0606-47) 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal and wait for 1 minute.
    2. Connect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
    3. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    4. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    5. Turn the Techstream on.
    6. Wait 1 second or more.
    7. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Trouble Codes.
    8. Read the DTCs.

      Powertrain > Engine > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTCs are not output A
      DTC P0606-47 is output B

    Result: 

    CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS. Refer to  CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS [11/2018 - 08/2020] 

    Result: 

    REPLACE ECM. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2018 - 02/2019]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [02/2019 - 08/2020]
