Removal [08/2020 - 12/2021]: Procedure

2020 Toyota RAV4 XLE, AWDSECTION Procedure

  1. REMOVE TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [08/2020 - 12/2021]

  2. REMOVE PROPELLER SHAFT HEAT INSULATOR 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 18

  3. REMOVE NO. 1 PROPELLER SHAFT HEAT INSULATOR BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and No. 1 propeller shaft heat insulator bracket sub-assembly.

      Torque: 25 N.m (255 kgf/cm, 18 ft.lbf) 

  4. REMOVE REAR ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 19

  5. REMOVE REAR ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 20

  6. REMOVE TRANSFER ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 8 nuts and transfer assembly from the transaxle.

  7. REMOVE TRANSFER AND TRANSAXLE SETTING STUD BOLT 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 30

  8. REMOVE WIRING HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET 
    1. Disconnect the 3 clamps and 2 connectors.

    2. Remove the 3 bolts, 3 wiring harness clamp brackets and clutch control solenoid wire.
